Well, autumn didn’t mess around, and has hit us with little deliberation with this week of wet weather. It’s not all bad though, because this changing season means a break from the sweltering heat as well a change in what we drink, moving away from crisp fresh Riesling and Rose and into the wines that summarize autumn; Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It is also an exciting time because gorgeous new releases are being brought into Australia from the French region specialising in these two wonderful varieties; Burgundy.
So therefore, we’re calling March the month of Burgundy and we will be holding several events throughout the month to celebrate the great varieties of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. We will be emailing special new release offers, and holding several tastings through the month.
First to our fantastic Burgundy Gala- an event sure to knock your sock off. Here you’ll be able to walk through our Alexandria tasting room and taste through the region of Burgundy from Chablis in the north to Beaujolais in the south and almost everything in between. This is an event I have been trying to get off the ground for years, as I believe it will be the perfect opportunity to see each appellation side-by-side to establish what makes each unique- as well as to discover which ones you love the most! We have a large selection of producers in attendance with names like the well-known Louis Jadot and Château de Meursault to lesser known and very small-scale (but of course very high quality) winemakers like Frederic Magnien, Domaine Cornu, Prieure Roch and Domaine Heresztyn-Mazzini. This is a truly rare occasion, and just in case you needed any more encouragement to come along, you will receive a Riedel Veritas Burgundy glass on arrival (RRP $59.95), which is yours to keep! Check out just how nice the glass is here!
